Counselling & Psychotherapy

Where your voice is heard.
Where yout story matters.

Clarity • Wholeness • Presence

• Are you exhausted from holding everything together?

• From carrying emotions that don’t quite fit into words?

• From doing your best – yet sensing something still isn’t right?

Many people I work with feel this way: capable on the outside but disconnected or overwhelmed inside. They often arrive not because everything is falling apart, but because something within them is asking for attention.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Therapy can be a space to slow down and feel met — without judgement, without needing the “right” words. A place where you can stop trying to be okay and begin listening to what’s really going on.

About Me

I’m Alessandra

A warm welcome.

I am an accredited integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, with additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR.

At the heart of my work is Psychosynthesis, a psychospiritual approach that recognises we are more than our struggles, symptoms, or circumstances. Alongside this deeper work, I also offer CBT for short-term, goal-focused support and EMDR for trauma and distressing life experiences.

I work with adults who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, burnt out, or at a crossroads in life.

Perhaps you’re coping on the outside whilst feeling lost, exhausted, stuck, or uncertain on the inside.

Or perhaps there is simply a quiet voice within saying:

“Something needs to change.”

If that resonates, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

My Approach

Every person is different, which is why I offer a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your needs, goals, and circumstances.

Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy

At the heart of my work is Psychosynthesis, a psychospiritual approach that supports not only healing and self-understanding but also personal growth, meaning, and purpose. Together, we explore deeper patterns, relationships, life experiences, and the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or lost along the way.

This approach is particularly helpful if you’re seeking deeper self-exploration, navigating life transitions, questioning your direction, or wanting to live in a way that feels more authentic and aligned with who you are.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It can be especially effective for anxiety, stress, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, and specific challenges where you are looking for practical tools and strategies.

CBT is often suited to short-term, goal-focused work, helping you develop skills that can support positive change in everyday life.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specialist therapy designed to help people process traumatic experiences, distressing memories, and events that continue to impact them in the present.

EMDR can be effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic, phobias, childhood experiences, and situations where you feel stuck despite understanding things intellectually. Rather than focusing solely on discussing the problem, EMDR helps the brain process and integrate difficult experiences differently.
Finding the Right Approach

Some clients come specifically for Psychosynthesis psychotherapy, others seek CBT for focused support, and some benefit from EMDR to process traumatic experiences.

Together, we can discuss what feels most appropriate for you and create a therapeutic approach that best supports your needs and goals.

Psychosynthesis: A Psychology of the Soul

My work is deeply influenced by the pioneering work of Roberto Assagioli, the Italian psychiatrist who developed Psychosynthesis in the early twentieth century.
Whilst acknowledging the importance of understanding psychological difficulties and emotional wounds, Assagioli believed that therapy should go beyond symptom reduction alone. He recognised that each person possesses not only fears, struggles, and limitations, but also inner resources, creativity, wisdom, purpose, and the capacity for growth.
Psychosynthesis explores the whole person — mind, body, emotions, relationships, and the deeper dimensions of human experience. It invites us to understand who we are, heal what has been wounded, and reconnect with our authentic selves.
Rather than asking only "What is wrong?", Psychosynthesis also asks: "Who am I becoming?"
It is a therapeutic approach that supports healing, self-discovery, meaning, and personal transformation.

How I Can Help

Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy
Psychosynthesis may be right for you if you’re looking for deeper self-understanding and personal growth.

People often seek Psychosynthesis when they are:

• Questioning their identity, purpose, or direction in life
• Navigating life transitions, loss, or significant change
• Feeling disconnected from themselves or others
• Exploring recurring relationship patterns
• Seeking greater meaning, authenticity, and fulfilment
• Interested in personal, emotional, or spiritual growth

Psychosynthesis is not only about healing what hurts, but also about discovering who you are becoming.

Therapy isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about coming back to yourself. People come to me for many reasons. You might recognise yourself in some of these.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a structured, practical, and evidence-based approach that focuses on current difficulties and developing effective coping strategies.

People often seek CBT for:
• Anxiety and excessive worry
• Stress and burnout
• Low mood and depression
• Panic attacks and health anxiety
• Low self-esteem and self-confidence
• Managing unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns
CBT can be particularly effective for short-term, goal-focused work.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR helps the brain process distressing experiences that may continue to affect your life in the present.

People often seek EMDR for:

• Trauma and PTSD
• Childhood experiences that still feel emotionally painful
• Anxiety linked to past events
• Phobias and fears
• Distressing memories
• Experiences that feel “stuck” despite talking about them

You feel anxious, burnt out, or constantly “in your head”
You’re struggling with low mood, shame, or harsh self-criticism
Relationships feel confusing, painful, or lonely
You’re carrying grief, loss, or unresolved past experiences
You’re questioning who you are - or who you’re becoming
Life has changed, and you’re not sure how to find your footing again
You live with neurodiversity and have always felt a bit “different”
Or maybe there’s just a quiet inner voice saying: something needs to change

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specialist trauma-focused therapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences and memories. It can be offered as a short-term intervention or as part of longer-term therapeutic work, depending on your needs and goals.
EMDR can be particularly effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, childhood experiences, and memories that continue to feel emotionally unresolved.

Late cancellations and no-show sessions will be charged at the full fee.

Therapy is most effective when held regularly.
Planned breaks — both yours and mine — will be discussed in advance.

Therapy is a personal journey, and there is no fixed timeframe for our work together unless we decided to work with CBT and EMDR which a short term.

Should you decide to end therapy, I kindly ask for at least one week’s notice. This gives us the opportunity to reflect on the progress you have made, acknowledge what has been meaningful, and bring our work together to a thoughtful and supportive close.

Your sessions are held in strict confidence. What you share is protected by law, ethical standards, and my own deep commitment to providing a safe, non-judgemental space.

However, there are some legal and ethical exceptions where confidentiality may need to be broken:

  • If there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others
  • If you disclose physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, or neglect
  • If there is life-threatening self-harm or severe substance misuse
  • If information is required by law or is in the public interest

Wherever possible, I will aim to discuss this with you before sharing information with other professionals.
